It’s no secret that Amazon started the smart voice-enabled speaker movement with its Echo speaker. Being Google’s first voice speaker, the Home shares a lot of its DNA with the Echo (7/10, WIRED Review). It’s a similarly-sized pudgy little cylinder of a speaker, with audio that will neither insult nor impress your ears, and a decent array of microphones to pick up your voice. Like the Echo, it’s a “Well, this is OK” speaker that’s good for anything Google Home has to offer, but great at very little. For its price, it offers better sound than the Home Mini.
