Raya and the Last Dragon comes out from behind Disney Plus paywall June 4 – CNET

Raya and the Last Dragon went up for preorder Friday on Disney Plus as part of the streaming service’s $30 Premier Access system and ahead of the movie’s March 5 release. The company also revealed that the CGI animated movie will come out from behind the paywall on June 4, which will then make it available to all subscribers at no extra cost.

This follows the same pattern as last year’s live-action Mulan remake, which shifted from Premiere Access to the regular Disney Plus library after three months. Mulan’s availability also widened to other digital platforms like Amazon and Vudu as a $30 digital movie purchase just short of one month after the Premiere Access release.

Raya was originally set to be released in November but was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. Raya is voiced by Kelly Marie Tran from Star Wars: The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Awkwafina from Crazy Rich Asians plays Sisu, the last dragon. The adventure follows Raya as she travels through Kumandra, a land inspired by various Southeast Asian cultures.
